The Energy Division is one of the largest producers of electricity and coal in Kazakhstan, accounting for approximately 16.3% of the country’s recorded electricity production in 2011.
It provides secure energy to the Group’s principal operating divisions and third parties.

The Energy Division comprises:
Eurasian Energy Corporation (EEC)
One of the largest producers of electricity and coal in Kazakhstan, employing approximately 7,000 people. Operates the Aksu power plant, which connects the power systems of western Siberia, the Altai region and North-East Kazakhstan, and the Vostochny open-pit coal mine.
Shubarkol Komir Joint Stock Company (SHUBARKOL)
One of Kazakhstan’s largest semi-coke and thermal coal producers. ENRC owns 25% of Shubarkol.
