Our Communities

ENRC is often by far the largest employer in the areas surrounding its facilities and has the semi-dependent relationships with local settlements in terms of infrastructure and workforce. Our responsibilities consequently extend beyond the factory gates and out into these communities.

The Group believes that active long-term engagement with local communities and other stakeholders is important. To support this, ENRC invests into the construction and maintenance of medical, cultural, recuperation and rehabilitation facilities, community centres, sports facilities, housing and infrastructure across Kazakhstan.

Over the past three years, ENRC has contributed more than USD 80 million to social causes to support public health programmes, developing regional centres, cities and villages, and education, cultural and sports facilities.

ENRC's extensive contribution to social causes in Kazakhstan was recognised by Paryz Award of the Government of Kazakhstan in December 2008.
