ENRC is often by far the largest employer in the areas surrounding its facilities and has the semi-dependent relationships with local settlements in terms of infrastructure and workforce.  Our responsibilities consequently extend beyond the factory gates and out into these communities. 

The Group believes that active long-term engagement with local communities and other stakeholders is important.  To support this, ENRC invests into the construction and maintenance of medical, cultural, recuperation and rehabilitation facilities, community centres, sports facilities, housing and infrastructure across Kazakhstan.

The Group expenditure for Community Social Investment in 2007 amounted to US$34 million.
