The Group's Energy Division is one of the largest electricity providers in Kazakhstan, accounting for approximately 16% of the country's recorded electricity production in 2007.
It operates through Eurasian Energy Corporation JSC (''EEC''), and includes the Vostochny coal mine and Aksu power station (a hydroelectric power station).
The Energy Division is integrated with the Group's other operations and it provides them with reliable access to low cost energy: it supplies electricity and coal to the Ferroalloy Division's Aksu Plant, the Iron Ore Division's power station and processing plant, and the Alumina and Aluminium Division's power station and the aluminium smelter, which was inaugurated in Dec. 2007.
The Group's Energy Division also supplies electricity and coal to third parties.
