Our People

ENRC's enlightened employment and remuneration policies ensure that we make the most of a highly motivated, well trained workforce - and reward the loyalty and continued achievements of our people.

All ENRC personnel are employed under working conditions formally agreed with the Government of Kazakhstan and trade unions for the mining and metallurgical industry.  The Group's key employees have individual employment agreements that cover, among other matters, base remuneration and benefits.  In addition, we negotiate collective employment agreements, which cover primarily social benefits, with representatives of the Group's employee labour unions.

Furthermore, ENRC is committed to investing in training the local workforce, upgrading the qualifications of its employees and providing educational grants.  Our recruitment policy includes free tuition and vocational training at higher educational institutions and ENRC-financed training centres.

In 2006, the Group's investment into health and safety training amounted to about US$1 million.  ENRC also spent approximately US$10 million on its special health care programme and employee medical treatment in 2007.
